Menard

Menard (Rueil-Malmaison) is a fully integrated geotechnical contractor offering worldwide expertise in ground improvement. Since the end of 1999, Menard is a subsidiary of the Vinci Group, one of the world’s leading Concession and Construction Group. Combining creative design and innovative techniques, and using a wide array of soil improvement techniques adapted to different soil conditions and structures to support, Menard delivers practical, sustainable alternatives to deep foundations. Since its creation in 1965, Menard has developed and patented many soil improvement techniques suitable for a large range of soil conditions, including, in 1996, a technique of semi-rigid inclusions called Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC™), which now represents about 50% of the projects executed by the company, with more than 400 projects involving CMC completed yearly. Menard has installed to date about 25,000 kms of CMC in the world.
In 2012, to further boost its steady growth and address the new challenges to come in soil improvement (new material, seismic design, sustainability, new technologies, big data, etc.), Menard set up its own Research and Development department, now led by Benoit QUANDALLE. While proposing classic soil reinforcement techniques to deal with the seismic risk, Menard is also working on the development of a specific para-seismic technology based on CMC (WP1).
